Sanford Holds Sports Physicals for Watford City Student-Athletes on August 6
Sanford is offering a special walk-in event for student-athletes to complete their sports physicals for the 2024-25 school season. Student-athletes can receive their sports physical this summer at Bakken Area Skills Center, located at 2112 Wolves Den Parkway, without an appointment on August 6 from 2-6 p.m.
Student-athletes are required to get an annual sports physical when participating in school-sanctioned sports and must have their physicals completed before the first day of practice for their sport.
Sports physicals cost $35. A bill for the service will be sent out following the exam. Parents need to be present for individuals under the age of 18. Please bring your appropriate state sports physical form and accompanying forms, which can be found on the Sanford website with the parent portion completed and signed.
If unable to attend a sports physical event at Sanford Health, families may also request to schedule an appointment with their primary care provider for their athlete’s annual sports physical.
A sports physical includes a physical exam with heart and lung checks, injury and concussion history review and a lifestyle and habit check-in. This low-cost visit is typically not covered by insurance.
A well child visit includes the sports physical exam plus growth and development checks, screening for mental health concerns and immunizations as needed. This comprehensive visit is typically covered by insurance.
Both traditional sports physicals and well-child exam are by appointment only.
Students may also receive a sports physical at Sanford Watford City Clinic. To schedule an appointment, call 701-842-3740. Visit sanfordhealth.org for more information about sports physicals.
