Sanford Health To Open First Satellite Clinic
Sanford Health is opening its first satellite clinic in Lidgerwood, N.D.
The Sanford Lidgerwood Satellite Clinic opens on Aug. 3. As a satellite clinic, Sanford Health Lidgerwood will expand primary care access for patients of all ages to five days a week, dedicating one and a half days to virtual care provided by Sanford Wahpeton clinicians and an in-person nurse.
“This is a key step to continuing to provide high-quality health care to our patients close to home, reducing travel time for our patients and community members,” said Brittany Jaehning, Sanford Wahpeton and Lidgerwood clinic director. “The health care industry is constantly changing, and Sanford Health is proud to be a leader in virtual care services through our Virtual Care Initiative.”
Primary care services through virtual visits include:
Follow-up care appointments
Nurse visits, including some immunizations
Urgent care visits
Care for behavioral and mental health concerns
The Virtual Care Initiative launched in September 2021 following a $350 million gift from Mr. T. Denny Sanford. The initiative will help Sanford Health deliver on its promise to patients by leveraging the best of technology to provide high-quality, safe care with an emphasis on convenience.
As part of the Virtual Care Initiative, Sanford Health will develop satellite clinics in rural communities across its footprint that will expand access to health care through virtual care services. Sanford has partnered with community members to understand the importance of increasing access to primary and specialty care services for Lidgerwood and its surrounding communities.
The public is invited to attend an open house on Thursday, Aug. 3, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. at the Sanford Lidgerwood Clinic, 21 Wiley Ave. S.
Appointments and virtual visits are available at Sanford Lidgerwood on Thursdays from 1:30 to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. To schedule a visit, call 701-538-4189.
