Sanford Health Chief Nursing Officer Erica DeBoer Appointed to National Executive Nurses Committee

Sanford Health’s chief nursing officer, Erica DeBoer, RN, MA, CCRN-K, CNL, has been appointed to join a select group of nursing executives from across the country on the Vizient System Nurse Executive Committee.

Vizient is the nation’s largest health care performance improvement company. It serves more than 50% of the nation’s acute care providers, which includes 97% of the nation’s academic medical centers and more than 20% of ambulatory care providers. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, Vizient has offices throughout the United States.

The committee DeBoer serves on includes nursing executives from other leading health care systems in the country including Cleveland Clinic, Yale New Haven, Saint Luke’s, Spectrum Health, WellStar and Ochsner.

“It’s an honor to join these strong leaders who are committed to supporting the people who give so much of themselves each and every day to their patients,” said DeBoer. “It’s our goal and purpose to generate action, stimulate innovation and inspire optimism around key issues impacting the nursing industry.”

A member of Sanford Health’s executive leadership team, DeBoer provides clinical expertise for the organization’s work in quality, safety, Evidence Based Practice (EBP), Research, Clinical Informatics and care management. She also oversees the integration of clinical initiatives.

DeBoer was recently a panelist at the 12th annual Becker’s Meeting in Chicago where she was invited to speak about setting up nurses for success and building a culture of well-being in the nursing workforce. This March, she was also invited to join a roundtable discussion on digital transformation and resiliency in nursing at the HIMSS conference in Orlando.

Sanford Health has several innovative nursing initiatives that are empowering nurses to do their most fulfilling work including using predictive analytics to manage clinical staffing, leveraging technology to support patients at the bedside and automating workflows to build a more resilient workforce and improve patient care.
