Sanford Bismarck Medical Center Implements Hospital Visitor Restrictions

Due to a sustained increase in respiratory illnesses and influenza across the region, Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck is now implementing visitor restrictions.

Effective 7 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, Sanford is placing the following restrictions to protect patients and employees from potentially catching and spreading illness.

Visiting hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

People who are ill or showing symptoms should not visit.

  • Visitors recently exposed to a respiratory illness and/or visiting a patient with a respiratory illness must always wear a mask.

  • All Sanford Health locations encourage patients to wear a mask if they are showing signs of respiratory illness or have COVID-19.

Emergency Department restriction:

  • Only one support person is permitted to accompany a patient in the Emergency Department.

Restrictions will remain in place until further notice. Sanford Health thanks our community members for their willingness to help prevent the spread of respiratory illness.

The Sanford Bismarck region provides health care to central and western North Dakota, eastern Montana and northern South Dakota. It includes 26 clinics in Bismarck, Mandan, Minot, Dickinson, Williston and Watford City, as well as a Level II trauma center located in Bismarck.
