Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Robert Freed Joins Essentia Health in Fargo

The Essentia Health-32nd Avenue Clinic is excited to welcome orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert Freed.

"Fargo offered the kind of community I wanted to settle into, and once I met the team, that sealed it," explained Dr. Freed of his decision to join Essentia Health. "It's a close-knit group that works well together, and you can feel the collaborative culture the moment you walk in. Between the sense of place and the sense of team, it felt like exactly the right move at this time."

Dr. Freed earned his medical degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Iowa. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Michigan State University-McLaren Macomb in Mount Clemens, Michigan, and a fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopy at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine in Ohio. Dr. Freed is certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

"I've always been drawn to the hands-on nature of orthopedic surgery," said Dr. Freed. "Being able to see the immediate result of treating patients is very rewarding, and orthopedics gives me that opportunity."
