Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day Recognized by Lakes Regional Healthcare

Spirit Lake, IA (March 6, 2026) In acknowledgement of March 11 as Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) Day, Lakes Regional Healthcare (LRH) is recognizing the contributions their RDN devotes to their patients’ care.

According to LRH Vice President of Marketing and Retail Services Jennifer Gustafson, “Beth Samuelson, who is our Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, plays a key part in our continuum of care. She sees patients in our inpatient areas, ensuring their nutritional requirements are met for optimal health and healing. She also meets with people individually who want to have personalized nutrition consultations to lose weight or improve health. She also provides education to the community at various public speaking events.”

RDNs dedicate their careers to improving the health of individuals and communities through evidence-based nutrition. They are food and nutrition experts who can translate the science of nutrition into practical solutions for healthy living. They have a degree in either nutrition, dietetics, public health, or a related field. They complete an internship, pass examinations, and use their nutrition expertise daily to help individuals make unique, positive lifestyle changes.

“We are proud of what Beth offers to our patients and the community,” said Gustafson. “She is passionate about nutrition, continually learning about the newest research, and helping people.”

Those interested in scheduling an appointment with Samuelson can talk to their healthcare provider or call 712-336-8658.
