New Radiation Oncologist Joins UnityPoint Health–St. Luke’s June E. Nylen Cancer Center

UnityPoint Health – St. Luke’s June E. Nylen Cancer Center is excited to announce that August Anderson, MD, has joined its team of providers as a radiation oncologist.

“In addition to specializing in advanced radiation therapy techniques designed to treat cancer safely and effectively, with care tailored to each patient’s individual needs, I appreciate the opportunity to contribute to education and research focused on improving cancer treatment outcomes,” says Dr. Anderson, who also serves as an Assistant Professor of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Dr. Anderson earned his medical degree with distinction from the University of California, San Francisco, completed his residency at the University of Washington, Seattle and has received national recognition for his academic achievements and research.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Anderson is committed to expanding access to high-quality cancer care globally and has participated in clinical and quality-improvement efforts at cancer centers in low/middle-income countries around the world.

“I value clear communication, shared decision-making, and supporting patients and families throughout every step of their cancer journey,” he says.
