Prairie Lakes Laboratory Expands Direct-Access Walk-In Testing Services

Prairie Lakes Laboratory is making it easier than ever for community members to take a proactive approach to their health with expanded walk-in, direct access lab testing services.

Designed for convenience and timely results, direct access lab Testing allows individuals to request select laboratory tests without needing an appointment or referral from a health care provider. The expanded menu offers more options to help individuals monitor ongoing health concerns, gather personal wellness information, or identify potential health risks.

“Direct access lab testing provides a simple and convenient option for people who want greater access to their health information,” said Jennifer Sieck, Director of the Prairie Lakes Laboratory. “Whether someone wants to monitor cholesterol levels, check blood sugar, or complete routine wellness testing, this service offers a fast and accessible way to do so.”

Patients can simply walk into Prairie Lakes Hospital lab, Specialty Clinic lab, or Northridge lab during regular business hours, select from available tests, pay by credit card, and have their lab work completed during the same visit. No appointment or provider referral is required. This streamlined process offers a fast, convenient way to access health information, with results only available through Prairie Lakes’ patient portals, MyCareCorner and Healow.

While direct access lab testing can provide valuable information, it is not intended to replace routine medical care or regular visits with a health care provider. Individuals who receive abnormal test results are encouraged to follow up with their primary care provider.

Prairie Lakes Laboratory continues to focus on delivering high-quality, patient-centered services that improve access to care and support healthier communities.
