Prairie Lakes Primary Care Introduces New Family Medicine Providers

Prairie Lakes Healthcare System is pleased to welcome Dr. Alexandra Gauer, and Certified Nurse Practitioners Adrienne Bak and Susan Olson to the Prairie Lakes Primary Care team. Gauer will join the Family Medicine team at Prairie Lakes Brown Clinic Northridge while both Bak and Olson join a skilled group of providers at Prairie Lakes Brown Clinic Main.

Gauer earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from A.T. Still University (ATSU) – Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (KCOM) in Kirksville, MO after she completed her Bachelor of Arts in Biology and German from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD. She completed her family medicine residency at Southern Illinois University (SIU) School of Medicine in Springfield, IL.

Outside of work, Gauer enjoys swimming, hiking, reading, watching movies, traveling, watching athletic events, and music. In addition, Dr. Gauer is also moderately fluent in German.

“I am excited to be moving back to my hometown to practice medicine.” Stated Dr. Gauer. She continues, “I have an unwavering passion for providing for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and women’s health.”

Bak earned her certification as Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner from South Dakota State University in Brookings, SD after serving as a Registered Nurse at Prairie Lakes Healthcare System from 2017 to 2024 in the Mallard Pointe Surgical Center, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Maternal Child Health departments.

“I’m thrilled to come back to Prairie Lakes as a Certified Nurse Practitioner and to be part of a team that truly puts patients first.” Said Adrienne.  “I look forward to building lasting relationships and providing compassionate, personalized care to every person I meet.”

Olson earned her certification as Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner from Purdue University Global after working as a Registered Nurse since 2010, most recently in the emergency department at Children’s Minnesota and Avera Marshall Regional Medical Center. She was also a Nurse Educator at CCM Health in Montevideo, MN. 

“I’m honored to join the Watertown healthcare community and to serve the people who call this wonderful town home.” shares Susan. She adds, “My goal is to provide trusted, patient-centered care that makes a meaningful difference in everyday lives.”
