Pelan Named New Manager of Premier Physical Therapy
Jay Pelan
Columbus Community Hospital is pleased to announce that Jay Pelan, PT, DPT, CSCS, Cert. MDT, will be the new manager of CCH’s Premier Physical Therapy in 2025.
Pelan joined the hospital in 2004 as a physical therapist for Rehab Services at the Wellness Center. He became the lead therapist at CCH in 2005, and in 2007, he transitioned to Premier Physical Therapy. Throughout his time there, Pelan has provided physical therapy services to a wide range of patients and treated various orthopedic and sports-related conditions. Pelan has also served as a center coordinator of clinical education and a certified clinical instructor, overseeing physical therapy student rotations and affiliations at Premier Physical Therapy.
“Jay brings a great deal of experience to this role,” said Keith Luedders, the vice president of ancillary services at the hospital, “and I am excited to see the contributions he will make to CCH as the manager of this important department.”
Doug Janssen, director of Rehab Services at the Wellness Center, pointed out how the hospital has had such great longevity with its therapy teams.
“Within Rehab Services, we are very fortunate to have leaders on the team who are ready to step up and accept the responsibility of managing their colleagues,” Janssen said. “At Premier Physical Therapy, now located at the Columbus Fieldhouse, we are confident that Jay is well prepared and ready to be another great leader for the hospital’s specialized therapy services there.”
Pelan will start his position the beginning of January 2025. He is taking over for Randy Perault, MSPT, SCS, ATC, who was the manager for Premier Physical Therapy for more than 20 years. Perault will continue to offer quality care to all the patients at Premier Physical Therapy as a physical therapist.
Perault, along with his wife, Pam, opened Premier Physical Therapy in 1998. The Peraults spent countless hours in the clinic and on the sidelines of sporting events as they built a practice that became a significant foundation for rehabilitation, athletic training and sports medicine services.
In 2004, CCH purchased the therapy practice, then named Perault Clinic. It moved to 30 Center Mall in 2007 and was renamed Premier Physical Therapy. In 2024, the clinic moved a third time to its current location at the Columbus Fieldhouse, 3912 38th St., Suite D.
