Sietstra to Lead Orange City Area Health System
Orange City Area Health System has appointed Chris Sietstra as its next Chief Executive Officer, effective July 6, according to an announcement from the health system.
Sietstra will succeed Marty Guthmiller, who is retiring after 32 years with the organization. During Guthmiller's tenure, OCAHS expanded its healthcare services and facilities and grew access to care across northwest Iowa.
Sietstra has served as OCAHS Director of Finance since 2024, where he has been involved in strategic planning, financial oversight, and organizational growth. He holds a Certified Public Accountant license and graduated from Northwestern College.
"Chris is immensely talented and I am confident that he will lead well and with integrity, upholding our culture and values," Guthmiller said in the announcement. "He has an incredible group of Senior Directors to lean on and assist OCAHS to reach even higher heights in the years to come."
Sietstra acknowledged the weight of the transition. "It is an incredible honor to be selected as the next CEO of Orange City Area Health System. I am grateful for the confidence the Board has placed in me," he said. "I look forward to collaborating with our great people here at OCAHS to continue providing top-notch, compassionate healthcare — building on the strong foundation established by Marty and those who have helped shape our organization over the years."
OCAHS noted that Sietstra will work alongside Guthmiller and the senior leadership team in the coming weeks to support a smooth transition. The organization has also begun a search for its next Director of Finance.
