New Cardiology Center at UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge Set to Open in October

UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge is proud to announce our  new outpatient heart center, UnityPoint Health – Trinity Heart Center, opening October 28,  2024. Trinity Heart Center will be located in Physicians Office Building East (POB East) on the  second floor. 

“We are extremely pleased to expand on our existing cardiology services with our new Trinity  Heart Center,” says Leah Glasgo, president, UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge. “We are  committed to providing comprehensive cardiology care for our community and the surrounding  area and look forward to providing the full continuum of heart care right here close to home.”  

Starting August 15, Trinity Heart Center will be taking phone calls to schedule appointments for  new patients to establish care. Appointments will be available starting October 28, 2024. The  phone number for Trinity Heart Center is (515) 206-7270.  

Trinity Heart Center will see patients with a variety of cardiology concerns. They will also provide  outpatient cardiac testing, including electrocardiograms (EKG), holter and loop or event  recorders. Patients can expect a personalized treatment plan from trusted experts with our  UnityPoint Health team.  

Currently, UnityPoint Health has hired 3 cardiologists who will provide general and interventional  services at Trinity. In addition to these hires, UnityPoint Health has recruited 6 long-term locum  cardiologists and 3 cardiology advance practice providers to support cardiac care as we  continue to recruit additional highly qualified cardiologists Our provider team will care for  patients across the cardiac care continuum including the emergency department, hospital  inpatient setting, procedures as well as outpatient ambulatory care.

Trinity Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Trinity Cardiovascular Lab (TCVL) and Trinity  Cardiac Catheterization Lab teams will continue to provide the same comprehensive cardiology  services, including TEE, cardioversion, heart catheterization and pacemakers. Patients will also  continue to be able to access stress testing, echo and vascular services. Patients with imaging  and procedural services should continue to park at Entrance C on the Trinity campus. 

As a part of UnityPoint Health, Trinity Heart Center will partner closely with UnityPoint Health cardiology programs in Waterloo, Cedar Rapids and Des Moines to provide electrophysiology 

(EP) studies and open-heart surgery to patients. These procedures will be done at these locations.
