Neuheisel Art On Display At Good Samaritan

CHI Health Good Samaritan welcomes local artist Lisa Neuheisel to its Walkway Gallery. Neuheisel’s show, entitled ‘Everything Will Be Alright’, features painting and photographs. It will be on display through March 2024.

Neuheisel studied Commercial Art at Kearney State College. She is the owner of The Sequel Bookshop in the Hilltop Mall.

“When I want to create a new piece, I often begin by using the pouring method. Air bubbles and paint soon become a forest scene, a view from a lakeshore or a bed of daisies,” says Neuheisel.

For more information or to purchase a piece, contact the artist at lneuheisel@msn.com.

The gallery at Good Samaritan has provided a respite to those walking the hospital’s halls since 2008.

Letter from the Artist-Lisa Neuheisel

My name is Lisa Neuheisel and I am honored to introduce my Art Show, ‘Everything Will Be Alright.’

I’ve been in love with art and all of its many gifts since I was a little girl, coloring with my colored pencils. After graduating from Kearney High School in 1988, I studied Commercial Art at Kearney State College. My Senior Project led me to work with Kearney Area Habitat for Humanity; creating posters, brochures and a TV Commercial. I also worked with Good Samaritan Hospital to design the Holiday Tree ornaments and remembrance cards. I enjoy combining my two passions, Reading and Art, and I now own The Sequel Bookshop here in Kearney, NE.

When I want to create a new piece, I often begin by using the pouring method. This adds an element of surprise when the lines move as the paint spreads and dries. After the canvas is covered, I like to allow my imagination to form new images...I then add acrylic embellishments. Air bubbles and paint soon become a forest scene, a view from a lakeshore or a bed of daisies.

My entire life, my Mom and Dad fed my creativity and always understood the need to calm anxious thoughts with a sketchbook or a paint brush.  It is with a full heart that I dedicate my show to my mom’s  memory. As you walk through the gallery, please take time to enjoy a quiet moment and know that Everything Will Be Alright.
