Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Seeks Healthcare Professional Board Members
The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Public Health, in partnership with the State Board of Health, is seeking members for 25 professional healthcare boards in Nebraska.
“I encourage Nebraskans in our healthcare industry to consider applying to serve on a professional healthcare board,” said Dr. Timothy Tesmer, DHHS Chief Medical Officer. “These boards help improve the healthcare experience for both medical professionals and individuals receiving services across the state.”
Professional board responsibilities include granting licenses to healthcare providers and reviewing proposed regulations. The full term of service is five years. Most terms will end on November 30, 2030. Several vacancies are also available for partial terms and public members. Some boards meet monthly, while others meet quarterly or annually.

Public member applicants must be at least 19 years of age, have been a resident of Nebraska for at least one year, must not hold an active credential in a profession subject to the Uniform Credentialing Act, must not be or have been employed by a facility subject to the Health Care Facility Act, and must not be the parent, child, spouse, or household member of a person currently regulated by the board to which the appointment is being made.
Applications must be received by August 1, 2025. Interviews will be held in Lincoln on September 14, 2025. When attending board meetings, appointed members receive per diem and are reimbursed for travel expenses.
