Mary Lanning Healthcare Appoints Interim CEO

Effective September 23, 2025, Eric Barber will no longer serve as President and CEO of Mary Lanning Healthcare. The MLH Board of Trustees acknowledges Eric’s contributions to the organization over the past 12 years and wish him well in his future endeavors.

David (Dave) Zechman will be serving as Mary Lanning Healthcare’s Interim Chief Executive Officer effective September 24, 2025. Dave comes to Mary Lanning Healthcare with an extensive track record of success in leading healthcare organizations in the Midwest. His CEO experience ranges from small hospitals to large, academic medical centers. He brings a special commitment and 

passion to independent community hospitals. Dave will work closely with the Board of Trustees, leadership, medical staff and employees to ensure a smooth transition and advance the vision of Mary Lanning Healthcare. 

The Board of Trustees is committed to ensuring a strong operating foundation, maintaining positive organizational momentum, and securing the future success of Mary Lanning Healthcare as an independent community hospital of choice.

A search for the permanent CEO will commence in the near future. The staff of MLH, along with the Board of Trustees, are dedicated to supporting each other during this transition.
