MercyOne Western Iowa’s Chief Medical Officer Elected To The Iowa Medical Society Board Of Directors

Keith Vollstedt, MD, MercyOne Western Iowa chief medical officer, has been elected to the Iowa Medical Society (IMS) Board of Directors. Dr. Vollstedt, a University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine graduate, has served the greater Sioux City area as a surgeon for over 30 years. 

At its annual meeting on April 19 in Des Moines, IMS members elected Dr. Vollstedt as one of three newly appointed board members. 

“We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Vollstedt to the IMS Board. His expertise in healthcare will be invaluable as we continue to advocate for our members and the communities they serve,” said Christina Taylor, MD and IMS President.  

“I am honored to serve on the IMS board. This position helps me advocate statewide for patient care and deliver high-quality care across Iowa,” said Dr. Vollstedt.  

“In my short time here, it has become very apparent that Dr. Vollstedt has the respect and trust of the physicians I have met and hospital leadership,” added Tom Clark, president of MercyOne Western Iowa.
