MercyOne Welcomes Husband, Wife Duo To Infectious Disease Clinic And Geriatric Medicine

MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center is excited to welcome Olusola (Shola) Ogundipe, MD, MBA and Vanessa Ogundipe, MD.

Dr. Shola Ogundipe joins Dr. Daniel Lamptey in our infectious disease care clinic which offers a wide range of services, including specialized care for infections of the skin, soft tissues, bones, brain, spinal cord and pneumonia. The clinic also offers specialized care for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis B and C infections.

“I was a registered nurse for over a decade before attending medical school,” said Dr. Ogundipe. “I knew I wanted to help more people and becoming a doctor is just an extension of that. I want to reach patients however I can to help make a lasting impact.”

"It's extremely exciting to have a new partner, a second infectious disease doctor, at MercyOne," said Dr. Lamptey. "This means the ability to provide care for more patients and work together to identify and manage these diseases."

Dr. Shola Ogundipe trained in infectious disease at the Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak and Oakland University - William Beaumont Medical School both in Michigan. He also received training in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Michigan, which is a part of Trinity Health.

His wife, Dr. Vanessa Ogundipe, joins MercyOne in geriatric medicine. She completed residency training in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland in Michigan. Following that, she completed her fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of Michigan.

"I really love getting to know new patients and working side-by-side with them to help achieve their health care goals,” she said. “When a patient understands what is happening or why you are changing their medications, it helps them be a better patient and you a better doctor.” As a geriatric medicine specialist Dr. Ogundipe is also passionate about educating her patients about the use of multiple prescription medications.

Call 712-279-2550 to schedule an appointment with Dr. Shola Ogundipe and 712-279-2950 with Dr. Vanessa Ogundipe.
