Mary Lanning Healthcare Emergency Department Begins Renovation

Beginning September 8, a minor renovation project will begin in the Mary Lanning Healthcare Emergency Department.

The Emergency Department will remain open as usual while work is done in five phases. New countertops and cabinets highlight the changes.

Robin Lauder, MLH Emergency Services Director, said she and her staff will be working, along with the MLH Engineering Department and contractors, to make sure the work is done while ED operations continue 24/7. The five-phase project will continue throughout the fall months. Patients may notice work being done but patient care should continue mostly uninterrupted.

Lauder said she and her staff are excited to see the project begin.

"This renovation will create a better look for our Emergency Department for patients and their families," Lauder said. "We hope to continue to serve the community with the best possible care in an improved environment."

Lauder said one of the most noticeable changes will be work done at the reception desk.

The MLH Emergency Department serves about 14,000 patients per year for a variety of medical needs.
