Mary Lanning Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab Earns AACVPR Recertification
The Mary Lanning Healthcare Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation programs recently received recertification by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The recertification recognizes MLH's commitment to improving the quality of life of patients by enhancing standards of care.
Ryan Williams, MLH Director of Rehabilitation, said he is proud of the MLH Cardiac Rehabilitation team, which is made up of registered nurses, dietitians, a pharmacist and mental health practitioner, for their work creating a personalized program that meets patient needs and goals.
"The AACVPR Program Certification is the only peer-reviewed recertification process designed to review individual facilities for adherence to national standards and guidelines," Williams said. "Our program includes monitored exercise and heart-health education to slow disease progression, reduce the risk of future events and support long-term wellness."
To earn recertification, MLH Cardiac & Pulmonary Rehabilitation participated in an application process that required extensive documentation of the program's practices. Each program's application is reviewed by the AACVPR Program Certification Committee, and certification is awarded by the AACVPR Board of Directors.
In 2018, AACVPR moved to an outcomes-based process with performance measurements that represent more meaningful outcomes. Therefore, AACVPR-certified programs are leaders in the cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation field because they offer the most advanced practices available and have proven track records of high-quality patient care. AACVPR Program Certification is valid for three years.
