Lexington Regional Health Center’s Brenna Bartruff Recognized with Bright Idea Award

Brenna Bartruff, Chief Communications Officer

Lexington Regional Health Center (LRHC) is proud to announce that Brenna Bartruff, Chief Communications Officer, has been named the winner of the Bright Idea Award by the Nebraska  Healthcare Marketers (NHM). Bartruff accepted the honor on behalf of the LRHC Marketing  Department during the Nebraska Hospital Association Annual Awards Banquet.

The winning submission highlighted LRHC’s monthly presentation series at the Orthman  Community YMCA, a community-focused initiative that began in 2023 by showcasing LRHC’s  transitional care program. In 2024, the partnership evolved into a monthly event called Coffee  Conversations, where local healthcare providers and staff present on timely topics and connect  directly with attendees. The program also partners with local coffee shops, to provide  complimentary coffee and rolls—creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for community  engagement.

“This award is a reflection of the incredible collaboration between LRHC and the Orthman  Community YMCA,” said Brenna Bartruff. “It’s been a meaningful way to reach new audiences,  support local businesses, and build trust in our healthcare system. I’m honored to accept this on  behalf of our marketing team and all those who help make it happen.”

The YMCA has played a vital role in the success of the initiative. Riley Gruntorad, CEO of YMCA of  the Prairie, shared:

“The partnership between Lexington Regional Health Center and the Orthman Community YMCA  continues to be one of the strongest examples of what community collaboration can achieve.  Together, we’re not just offering programs, we’re building connections that support the health and  well-being of Lexington as a whole. One of the most meaningful ways this partnership shines is  through our monthly Coffee Conversations sessions. These gatherings give our members— especially our seniors—a chance to learn directly from local health professionals, ask questions,  and take proactive steps toward living healthier lives. The impact has been incredible, and it’s  inspiring to see more people of all ages joining in each month. We’re deeply grateful for LRHC’s  commitment to our YMCA and our shared mission of helping our community grow stronger in  mind, body, and spirit.”

The Bright Idea Award recognizes creative and impactful marketing strategies that elevate  healthcare organizations and their connection to the communities they serve. LRHC’s recognition  underscores its dedication to innovative outreach and meaningful partnerships that enhance the  health and well-being of the Lexington community. This marks the second time Bartruff has received the Bright Idea Award, with her first win in 2019, further highlighting her continued leadership and innovation in healthcare marketing.
