Lakes Regional Healthcare Moving to New Avera MyChart Patient Portal

Lakes Regional Healthcare (LRH) patients will soon have access to a new patient portal with the launch of Avera MyChart on May 30.

The launch of Avera MyChart comes as part of LRH’s transition to Epic, a new electronic health record system designed to improve communication, coordination and access to patient information across the organization. Avera MyChart will replace AveraChart and provide patients with expanded tools and features designed to make it easier to stay connected to their healthcare information and care teams.

Patients should note that Avera MyChart is a new portal and is separate from the AveraChart portal they currently use. Current usernames, passwords and proxy access settings from AveraChart will not carry over to the new system. Beginning on May 30, patients will need to create a new account for Avera MyChart.

With Avera MyChart, patients will be able to securely message providers, review medications and test results, manage appointments, complete virtual visits and access billing information in one convenient location.

Patients who currently have proxy access for a child or family member will also need to re-establish proxy access in the new portal after launch.

LRH President and CEO Jason Harrington said the new portal is designed to improve convenience and accessibility for patients. “Avera MyChart will give patients more direct access to their health information and make it easier to stay connected with their care teams,” Harrington said. “We are excited to offer a more modern and user-friendly experience for our patients.”

LRH patients may start receiving emails, text messages and appointment reminders with information about setting up their Avera MyChart account.

Patients can access Avera MyChart online at www.lakeshealth.org/mychart-login or by downloading the mobile app through the Apple App Store or Google Play.

“Our goal is to continue improving the patient experience while providing high-quality care close to home,” Harrington said. “Avera MyChart is another step forward in helping patients more easily manage their healthcare.”
