Light White for Health Care Workers

It is no secret the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has put a strain on many individuals — especially our health care workers, who provide services and support to our friends, families and neighbors every day.

As an expression of gratitude and appreciation for their heroic work throughout the pandemic, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners proclaimed Feb. 28 through March 4 as Health Care Workers Appreciation Week.

Columbus Community Hospital encourages area businesses and individuals to join us in thanking our health care workers. This act of appreciation can include displaying white ribbons in their yard or window, lighting up businesses in white or leaving the lights on, conducting an act of kindness for a health care worker or sharing a simple “thank you.”

In addition, the hospital is asking community members to unite in support by wearing white on Friday, March 4, and posting photos on social media using the hashtag #LightWhite4Healthcare.
