LifeScape to Host Ribbon Cutting for Fifth Adult Residential Home in Five Years

LifeScape is celebrating a major milestone with the ribbon cutting of the newest adult residential home in eastern Sioux Falls. What began as a strategic initiative five years ago has continued to grow. “We set out to build one new residential duplex in the Sioux Falls area every year, for five years, and we aren’t done yet,” explains LifeScape CEO Steve Watkins. With over 250 adults living in the adult residential program, these new homes bring better accessibility and efficiency, “Designing these homes to be one floor and owned by us, eliminates mobility and safety challenges, along with creating a more effective way to manage the maintenance of each home,” says Watkins.

The strategic initiative began in 2020 with the groundbreaking of the first new duplex named Continuum. Each year in the Spring, three additional homes have opened, Linden (2022) and Magnolia (2023) in Sioux Falls, and Kennedy (2024) in Harrisburg. “LifeScape is able to bring these new homes to life thanks to our partnership with the South Dakota Department of Human Services and the South Dakota Housing Development Authority,” explains LifeScape Foundation President, Jessica Wells. “Not only have we been afforded the opportunity to build these new duplexes, we’ve also been able to purchase an existing home in western Sioux Falls,” says Wells.

Please join us at the ribbon-cutting ceremony of our fifth new home and an exciting announcement at 9am on Friday, March 14th, located at 8130 East Norway Pine Trail.
