Learn About Bariatric Surgery at Lunch & Learn
Gastric bypass and other weight-loss surgeries — known collectively as bariatric surgery — involve changing a person’s digestive system to help them lose weight. Specialists perform bariatric surgery when diet and exercise haven’t worked, or when a patient experiences serious health problems because of weight.
Columbus Community Hospital wants to help community members learn more about bariatric surgery by offering a free Lunch & Learn, featuring Dr. Thomas White with Methodist Physicians Clinic.
The event will be at noon on Wednesday, April 27, in the Platte and Prairie rooms at Columbus Community Hospital. White will discuss the different bariatric surgical options available and the criteria that would make a person a good candidate for this surgical option. Following the presentation, White will answer questions.
Participants should register for the event by Monday, April 15, by calling 402-562-3380 or visiting www.columbushosp.org. Registration includes a light lunch.
Attendees may choose to attend in person or via Zoom. A link to the Zoom event is available online.
