Kearney Regional Medical Center Opens Specialized AFib Clinic Led by Dr. Brian Kim
In honor of National AFib Month this September, Platte Valley Medical Clinic (PVMC) at Kearney Regional Medical Center is proud to announce the opening of its AFib Clinic. This specialized clinic will offer expert care for patients suffering from atrial fibrillation (AFib) and atrial flutter (Aflutter). Beginning immediately, the AFib Clinic will be accepting new patient appointments every Thursday, providing a dedicated resource for those affected by this common heart rhythm disorder.
AFib affects 2.7 million Americans and, if left untreated, can lead to serious complications such as blood clots, stroke, and heart failure. Dr. Brian Kim, an electrophysiologist and one of the nation’s leaders in the field, will be heading the clinic. Dr. Kim brings extensive experience, having successfully treated thousands of patients with AFib/Aflutter.
“We are committed to delivering personalized care,” said Dr. Kim. “Our clinic will work closely with patients who have been diagnosed by their cardiologists or primary care providers to develop tailored management and treatment plans, ensuring the best possible outcomes.”
Symptoms of AFib/Aflutter may include:
Irregular, rapid heartbeat
Heart palpitations or chest fluttering
Shortness of breath
Weakness, dizziness, or fainting
Fatigue
While many patients experience these symptoms, some may not display any, making early detection and treatment crucial.
The AFib Clinic will offer services including:
Cardioversions and ablations (radiofrequency catheter ablation)
Pacemaker and/or left atrial appendage occlusion device implantation
Specialized medical management
The clinic, located at 816 22nd Avenue, Suite 100, Kearney, NE, is now open for appointments. Patients interested in scheduling a consultation with Dr. Brian Kim can contact the clinic at 308-865-2263.
