Kearney Regional Medical Center Announces Expansion into Northern Kearney
Kearney Regional Medical Center (KRMC) has purchased a tract of land on the corner of 2nd Avenue and 56th Street in Kearney.
The section of land, located north of Pinnacle Bank and east of Hy-Vee, will be called “KRMC Oak Park Campus.”
“The purpose of the Oak Park Campus is to bring care closer to where many of our patients live, shop, and work,” said Dr. Scott Smith, KRMC’s Medical Director, Leadership Board Member, and Internal Medicine Physician.
CEO Doug Koch said of KRMC’s growth, “We are excited to continue to expand our physical footprint. The continued development of our programs is a direct result of the high quality and compassionate care of our physicians and employees. We look forward to bringing additional access and services to this expanding part of our community.”
No immediate construction is planned for the property at this time, and details about the exact services that will be available at Oak Park Campus are not publicly available. Said Administrator of Clinic & Provider Services, Tom McLeod, “We are currently reviewing proposals from our architect related to our Oak Park Campus expansion and plan to share our selection once that is finalized.”
In addition to Oak Park Campus, KRMC also has two existing offsite clinics located throughout the city of Kearney: Platte Valley Podiatry, located at 920 East 56th Street Suite C, and Platte Valley Specialty Clinic, located at 3712 28th Avenue. Construction is also currently underway on a $30 million inpatient addition at the main campus that will add 25 patient beds and expand other current services.
