Kaylen Biltoft Receives Columbus Community Hospital’s Service Over Self Award

Kaylen Biltoft

Kaylen Biltoft recently received the Service Over Self award from Columbus Community Hospital.

The award recognizes CCH employees who volunteer in Columbus and the surrounding communities. It celebrates, supports and encourages volunteer activities, while also recognizing CCH staff members’ positive impact on their communities.

Biltoft works as a radiation therapist at Columbus Cancer Care. In addition, she is a regular volunteer for the Helping Hands Cancer Foundation.

Ashley Carlson, the Columbus Cancer Care practice manager, nominated Biltoft for the award.

The nomination letter stated, “Kaylen is an extraordinary volunteer for Helping Hands Cancer Foundation. Her dedication and compassion have made a significant impact on our community. She helped foster a program that specifically provides necessary resources to those with a cancer diagnosis. So many of our patients at Columbus Cancer Care have benefited from this organization by receiving gas cards or utilizing free transportation to and from appointments.”

Carlson also quoted a recent interview Biltoft gave regarding her experience with the program, during which she said, “‘I witnessed firsthand how much our community’s cancer survivors and their caregivers need extra assistance while working at Columbus Cancer Care.’”

Biltoft received the Service Over Self award on Friday, Dec. 20.

The Service Over Self award is open to all CCH staff. To submit your nomination, send your nominee’s volunteer story to bridges@columbushosp.org.

This award is brought to CCH through the Pathway to Excellence® program, which recognizes hospitals that create a positive working environment for nurses.
