Jamestown Regional Medical Center Recognized by Becker's for Infection Control Performance

Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of 514 hospitals nationwide with a catheter-associated urinary tract infection (CAUTI) rate of zero based on the healthcare-associated infections dataset from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).

A zero CAUTI rate reflects JRMC’s commitment to evidence-based protocols – clinical practices that implement the best available research, physician expertise and patient values to optimize outcomes. These include minimizing catheter use, proper sterile insertion techniques to avoid contamination and prompt removals.

Nurses in JRMC’s Surgery Center, Patient Care Unit and Family BirthPlace — the primary areas of the medical center where catheters are used — follow these protocols daily with administrative support.
