Spotlight on Dan Carpintero,  Iowa Healthcare Leaders Association President

Dan Carpintero

Dan Carpintero brings more than a decade of healthcare experience to his role as President of the Iowa Healthcare Leaders Association (IHLA) board. As Revenue Cycle Director at Physicians' Clinic of Iowa, Carpintero has built his career navigating nearly every corner of the healthcare landscape — from scribe and clinical supervision to operations management and now revenue cycle oversight.

His expertise spans financial performance management, payer strategy, operational optimization, and team development. He holds a Master's in Healthcare Administration from the University of Iowa, a credential that reflects his commitment to growing as a leader.

For Carpintero, joining IHLA was a natural extension of that commitment. "I joined IHLA because I wanted to contribute to the greater good of healthcare," he says. "Contributing to my organization is great, but to know you can help and learn from others you may have never otherwise met is something I deeply appreciate." That spirit of connection is central to what keeps him engaged. "IHLA serves all levels of healthcare leaders, and that's a sentiment that I can easily get behind."

As President, Carpintero focuses on leadership development, strategic planning, and membership engagement. He brings hands-on experience from chairing the Finance Committee and participating in both the Professional Development and Membership committees.

When he's not working through the complexities of healthcare administration, Carpintero is likely working through something else entirely — strategy board games, Rubik's cubes, or, perhaps fittingly, Microsoft Excel.
