Spotlight on De Schieltz, MHA, FACMPE, Iowa Healthcare Leaders Association Board Member
De Schieltz has spent more than 25 years mastering the art of making OB/GYN practices run smoothly. As Manager of Revenue Cycle and Practice Integration at OB-GYN Associates, PC, she's become the go-to person for turning operational headaches into seamless experiences for both staff and patients.
Her expertise in revenue cycle management and practice integration has made her a trusted voice across Eastern Iowa's women's healthcare community. When practices need to streamline operations without sacrificing quality care, they know who to call.
Schieltz originally joined IHLA as a national liaison focused on education, thinking that would be the extent of her involvement. "I first came into IHLA as a national liaison for those wanting to advance education, and quickly learned there was so much more," she explains.
What she discovered was a network that became essential to her daily work. "I rely on IHLA connections on a weekly basis to help troubleshoot payor and process issues," she says. It's this practical, real-world problem-solving that keeps her engaged with the organization week after week.
On the IHLA board, she focuses on what she knows best: supporting membership and mentorship. Her approach is hands-on and personal – she understands that healthcare leaders need both technical expertise and genuine support from people who've walked the same path.
When she's not solving healthcare puzzles, Schieltz has channeled her creativity into something deeply meaningful. She's crafted a quilt from military uniforms for a retired veteran and finished her first quilt of valor last winter. Schieltz brings this same thoughtful approach to her work with IHLA, helping to weave together a stronger community of healthcare leaders across Iowa.
