Hospitalist Group Changes Name to Columbus Hospital Medicine

The doctors who treat hospitalized adult patients in Columbus have changed the name of their group to better reflect their commitment to and love for their community.

Inpatient Physician Associates Columbus (IPA-C) has changed its name to Columbus Hospital Medicine. The hospitalists in the group will continue to provide a high quality of care to adult patients who are staying at Columbus Community Hospital.

When you are admitted to the hospital, you receive 24/7 care from a hospitalist, who is specially trained to provide care in that setting. Your hospitalist, in turn, communicates with your primary care provider and any other specialists until you are discharged.

IPA-C has been treating patients at Columbus Community Hospital since 2010. “Our team of practicing hospitalist physicians are all proud community members,” said Kurt Kapels, MD, clinical director of Columbus Hospital Medicine. “It is important to us to define our commitment to the community with this name change. We are proud to be active and involved members of many organizations throughout Columbus, and we are invested in working toward the betterment of the place we all call home.”
