Hospital Welcomes Newest Psychiatry Resident

Columbus Community Hospital welcomes Dr. Matt Kelly as the newest resident at Columbus Psychiatry Clinic.

Kelly received his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln before attending medical school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) in Omaha. He is a fourth-year resident and will complete his training in June 2024.

Through a partnership with UNMC and Columbus Psychiatry Clinic, Kelly will work alongside psychiatrist Dr. Venkata Kolli to perform diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy and treatment, and help manage patients' medication.

Kelly has a particular interest in general outpatient psychiatry and looks forward to his time in the clinic.

"Rural psychiatry is enjoyable because you have the opportunity to learn more about your patient and the community," he said.

Kelly will see patients in the clinic during regular business hours Monday, Tuesday and Friday through the end of October.
