Hospital Offers Free Car Seat Checks At Local Car Dealership
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car seats and booster seats protect infants and children in a crash. Yet, car crashes are still a leading cause of death for children ages 1 to 13 in the United States. That's why choosing and using the right car seat every time your child is in the car is essential. But how do you know if your child's car seat is installed correctly?
Columbus Community Hospital is proud to partner with Columbus Motor Company to provide free car seat checks Thursday, May 18, from 4-8 p.m. The event will be at Columbus Motor Company at 2806 23rd St. in Columbus.
During the checks, certified technicians will teach caregivers about proper car seat installation and how to secure a child in a car seat. Technicians will also check to ensure caregivers use appropriate seats for their children and that no car seats have been recalled.
Checks will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You do not need to schedule an appointment. Spanish interpreters will be available.
