Hospital Elevates Patient Care with Cutting-Edge Pain Management Program
Columbus Community Hospital is excited to announce an advanced pain management program starting in September. This new initiative, in collaboration with Dr. John Massey from MD Pain in Lincoln, Nebraska, will bring a comprehensive range of pain management services to Columbus.
The upgraded pain management program will now offer a variety of advanced procedures, including dorsal root ganglion stimulators, VIA Disc NP, the Intracept® procedure, the Vertiflex procedure, kyphoplasty and spinal cord stimulators. These additions will significantly enhance the hospital's ability to provide state-of-the-art pain management solutions for local patients.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Dr. Massey and expand our pain management services,” said Kathy Decker, MS, RN, the surgical services consultant at Columbus Community Hospital. “Chronic pain can have profound effects on a person’s physical and emotional well-being. By offering these advanced services locally, we aim to provide much-needed relief and support to our patients. This program will ensure they have access to the latest treatment options without the stress of traveling long distances.”
Massey, who has more than 20 years of extensive experience in pain management, will lead the program. Known for his expertise in treating chronic pain, Massey is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Department of Family Medicine. He has helped develop national pain management guidelines and taught these techniques to other specialists.
