Hospital Creates New Position In Patient Accounts

Columbus Community Hospital recently named its first assistant director of patient accounts — Lisa Drueppel.

Drueppel began working for the hospital in October 2013 as the receptionist at the Visiting Physicians Clinic. She then transferred to Occupational Health Services in 2017 to work as the billing/consortium coordinator. In 2021, Lisa transitioned to patient accounts, and has served as the chargemaster in that department since 2022.

“Lisa brings a high-level of professionalism, knowledge and experience to the assistant director position,” said Chad Van Cleave, vice president of financial services at CCH. “Her years of experience as an office manager and chargemaster have prepared Lisa for the demands of the job. She promotes and adheres to our core values and has demonstrated her leadership on several projects over her career at CCH.”

CCH recently created the assistant director position to distribute and balance the additional workload increases to its patient accounting department. The hospital has experienced significant growth over the past several years that has directly impacted the number of claims processed on a weekly and monthly basis, which makes it important to bring on an assistant director.
