Hospital Celebrates Nursing Staff During National Nurses Week

The American Nurses Association reports that registered nurses (RNs) make up our nation's largest health care profession. The vastness of the profession allows RNs to meet individuals' needs in a variety of settings.

During National Nurses Week, Columbus Community Hospital recognizes its nurses' important role in providing high-quality care for each patient. The theme for the weeklong celebration is "Nurses Make the Difference."

"Our nurses provide extraordinary care to make a difference in the lives of our patients," said Mike Hansen, president and CEO of the hospital. "They are an essential part of our organization. It's our privilege to celebrate our nurses and show our appreciation for the work they do, not just during this week, but at every opportunity throughout the year."

There is an increasing demand for quality nurses to meet the complex needs of health care consumers. Columbus Community Hospital keeps its mission and vision top of mind to execute its strategic plan, which includes goals to sustain and grow, promote high quality, collaborate and affiliate.

"The mission, vision and values of CCH are at the core of all that we do, and are the foundation for how nursing care is delivered," said Tawny Sandifer, chief nursing officer and vice president for patient care at CCH. "During National Nurses Week, it's an honor to celebrate this special group of hardworking individuals."
