Hastings Family Care Earns National Recognition for Advancing Cardiovascular Health
Hastings Family Care (HFC) recently received three awards from the American Heart Association (AHA) outpatient program achievement awards for its commitment to reducing the risk of heart disease and stroke. HFC received the Target: Type 2 Diabetes Gold Achievement Award, the 2024 Check. Change. Control. CholesterolTM Recognition Gold Achievement Award and the Silver Target: Blood Pressure Award.
The AHA presents the awards for proven dedication to ensuring patients have access to best practices that reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke.
“At Hastings Family Care, providing quality patient care is our priority,” said Jessica Sutton, Director of Clinic Operations. “We are pleased to be recognized by the American Heart Association for our success in meeting evidence-based clinical guidelines developed to improve patient outcomes.”
Nearly half of all U.S. adults have some form of cardiovascular disease. High cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes and uncontrolled high blood pressure are leading risk factors. With timely diagnosis, research-based treatment and education, these conditions can be managed.
“Heart disease and stroke remain leading causes of death for area residents and all Americans,” Sutton said. “Addressing high cholesterol, Type 2 diabetes and blood pressure is key for better health.”
Target: BP™ is a national collaboration between the AHA and American Medical Association to reduce the number of Americans who suffer from heart attacks and strokes each year by urging physician practices, health systems and patients to prioritize hypertension control. The initiative aims to help healthcare organizations improve blood pressure control rates using evidence-based protocols, tools and resources and recognizes organizations that treat patients with hypertension for achieving blood pressure control rates within the populations they serve.
