Good Samaritan NICU Turns 50: Reunion June 22

NICU Reunion 2024

CHI Health Good Samaritan Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is celebrating its 50th birthday by hosting a reunion for former graduates of the unit, their families and staff.

The free open house is scheduled from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 22 in the hospital’s cafeteria. It is an opportunity to reconnect and celebrate 50 years of life-saving care for babies with serious health conditions. The event will feature games, snow cones, cake and a peek inside an ambulance and AirCare helicopter.

Each year, approximately 150 newborns, many transferred via Good Samaritan ambulance or AirCare helicopter, require care from the NICU medical and nursing team at Good Samaritan. The Level II unit features 24/7 neonatal nurse practitioner coverage, state-of-the-art cardiac and respiratory monitoring, and nine private rooms.
