Good Samaritan and St. Francis Recognized with 4-Star CMS Rating; St. Francis Skilled Care Achieves Top Distinction

On Aug. 6, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released its 2025 Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings. Both CHI Health Good Samaritan and CHI Health St. Francis well surpassed the national average and achieved four stars. 

The sister hospitals are two of only seven acute care hospitals in Nebraska to earn a four- or five-star rating. Nationally, only 37% of hospitals achieved this high honor.

CHI Health St. Francis Skilled Care was also awarded a prestigious five-star rating in the Nursing Homes including Rehab Services division. The top mark includes quality measures for health inspections, staffing and quality measures.

CMS ratings help patients and families make informed healthcare decisions. They summarize performance based on rigorous quality measures including treating heart attacks and pneumonia, readmission rates and safety of care.
