Essentia Health to Host Walk and Support Group for Stroke Survivors

As part of Stroke Awareness Month, Essentia Health will hold its annual stroke walk in support of local stroke survivors on Wednesday, May 27. This event will be held from 2-4 p.m. at the Rustad Recreation Center, located at 601 26th Ave. E. in West Fargo.

This event is free and open to survivors, their support network and staff that care for stroke patients. Walkers do not need to be Essentia patients. If interested in attending, please email StrokeSupportGroup@EssentiaHealth.org.

“We always look forward to this walk,” said Chelsey Kuznia, stroke program manager at Essentia Health. “It’s a fun and active way to celebrate stroke survivors and supporters while also highlighting stroke recognition and prevention. Everyone is welcome!”

For those unable to attend the walk, a Stroke Support Group is available the next month, from 3-4 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, in Conference Room LLH253 at Essentia Health-Fargo, located at 3000 32nd Ave. S.

Held the last Thursday of every month, this support group is open to stroke survivors, family members and caregivers. It is designed to provide support, education and encouragement from others that have experienced similar life-changing events. Attendees do not need to be Essentia patients.

If interested in attending, or for questions, please call (701) 364-4509 or email StrokeSupportGroup@EssentiaHealth.org. A virtual attendance option is available.
