Essentia Health 32nd Avenue Clinic Welcomes OB-GYN Practitioner Catherine Schumacher

Catherine Schumacher, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse midwife in obstetrics and gynecology, is excited to join the Essentia Health-32nd Avenue Clinic.

“I was drawn to Essentia after completing my clinical rotations with the Fargo midwifery team,” said Schumacher. “The teamwork and collaboration between staff, especially between the midwifery department and OBGYNs, was fantastic. It’s clear that Essentia supports midwifery care models.”

Schumacher received her education from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio and is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board.

“I have a decade of experience in labor and delivery as an RN,” explained Schumacher. “I always knew this was the specialty I wanted to pursue. I was inspired and encouraged by the midwives I worked with in Colorado to become a midwife. I am passionate about improving outcomes for women, infants and births while advocating for your decisions about your health and autonomy.”
