Distinguished Service Award Nominations Open Through July 1
Each year, the South Dakota Association of Healthcare Organizations (SDAHO) has the privilege of recognizing individuals whose leadership, compassion, and dedication make a lasting impact on health care across our state through the Distinguished Service Awards (DSA).
For decades, the DSA awards have been a proud tradition within SDAHO — celebrating the professionals, advocates, trustees, public officials, and emerging leaders who go above and beyond in service to their organizations, patients, residents, and communities. These awards not only recognize individual achievement, but also highlight the strength and commitment found throughout South Dakota’s health care continuum.
As SDAHO prepares to celebrate its 100th Anniversary during the 2026 Annual Convention, Sept. 16–18 in Sioux Falls, this year’s awards carry even greater significance. The milestone celebration provides a meaningful opportunity to honor those who continue to shape the future of health care in South Dakota.
SDAHO is currently accepting nominations for the 2026 Distinguished Service Awards, and members are encouraged to nominate deserving individuals whose work and leadership deserve recognition. The deadline to submit a nomination is July 1, 2026.
Award categories include:
Trustee
Media Personality
State Legislator
State Official
Health Care Professional
Health Care Hero
Young Professional (Under 40)
Post-Acute Care Champion
Quality Champion
Too often, outstanding individuals quietly serve their communities without recognition. Taking the time to submit a nomination is an opportunity to ensure their contributions are celebrated and remembered.
Award recipients will be recognized during SDAHO’s Annual Convention on September 17 in Sioux Falls.
