Cynthia Pile Receives DAISY Award for Exceptional Nursing Excellence
Cynthia Pile
Cynthia Pile recently received Columbus Community Hospital’s DAISY Award for the second quarter of 2024. Pile is a registered nurse in the hospital’s infusion services unit.
The DAISY Award is an international program that rewards and celebrates nurses’ extraordinary clinical skills and compassionate care. CCH is a DAISY Award Partner and recognizes one of its nurses with this special honor each quarter.
Nikkayla Birchem, RN, BSN, who also works in the infusion services unit, nominated Pile for the award. In her nomination letter, Birchem praised Pile for the tender and compassionate care she gives each patient.
“She is an inspiration to nurses everywhere,” Birchem said. “She makes us feel comfortable and puts our minds at ease. She helps make this life-changing time in our lives more manageable and something we can handle. I look up to her with all her knowledge, and I am never afraid to ask her a question. I know she will give me tough love to learn the lessons I need as a nurse. She has guided me in so many ways with the education she has provided me. There is no one more deserving of this award.”
Pile was honored with an award presentation on Wednesday, Sept. 18.
Patients, visitors, nurses, physicians and staff can nominate a deserving nurse by filling out the “Nurse Nomination Form” at columbushosp.org. Nominations received after the winner is chosen for that quarter will be eligible for the next DAISY Award.
