Columbus Psychiatry Clinic Is Here For You

Your everyday life deserves high-quality care, and Columbus Psychiatry Clinic is here for you.

Several years ago, leaders at Columbus Community Hospital noticed the large need for psychiatry services in the Columbus community and knew it was time to act. Columbus Psychiatry Clinic opened in August 2019.

Outside of Lincoln and Omaha, almost every county in Nebraska has a shortage of mental health providers, said Dr. Tara Sjuts, psychologist at Columbus Psychiatry Clinic. “To have a diverse range of mental health services, under one roof in rural Nebraska, is something we are proud to offer so we can serve our local community,” she said.

At Columbus Psychiatry Clinic, your mental health is the providers’ top priority. They offer care for all ages and provide medication management, psychotherapeutic services, psychological testing and counseling services.

“We treat many conditions by providing evidence-based psychiatry care,” said Dr. Venkata Kolli, psychiatrist at the clinic. “The wonderful thing about our clinic is that we offer a wide range of services, from child psychiatric conditions to geriatric care.”

The staff has a very team-based approach, and when a patient or a family member needs help, clinic staff members want to find just the right provider for them. When you call the clinic, a staff member will ask important questions about what you need so they can find the right match.

“Every day is a learning process,” Kolli said. “Our clinic is a training site for psychiatrists and nurse practitioners — all researching new ways to find the best care for our patients.”

If you start seeing a provider and they determine you or your loved one could benefit from working with someone else, they can connect you with the right person.

Above all, Columbus Psychiatry Clinic uses evidence-based medicine to support patients. No matter what they do, the providers make sure there is always science behind any approach they use.

“Our team can provide assessment and treatment for a wide range of behavioral and mental health concerns, using both medical and family therapy,” Kolli said.

“Our team is warm, genuine and down to earth — and each provider brings their unique specialties and skillsets to the table,” added Sjuts. “Everyone has such great respect for the individuals and families we serve, and we’re truly invested in helping them find wellness and high quality of life.”
