Columbus Community Hospital Offers Respiratory Therapy Scholarship

Are you considering taking a respiratory therapy program or course? Adults who want to pursue a career as a respiratory therapist can receive assistance with Columbus Community Hospital’s Respiratory Therapy Scholarship/Internship Program.

A respiratory therapist is a licensed healthcare professional who specializes in assessing, treating and managing people with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. They work with patients of all ages to help them breathe more effectively.

With this initiative, participants can apply to a respiratory therapy program or course through Central Community College or Southeast Community College. Then, Columbus Community Hospital will pay for their tuition, books and other education-related expenses.

CCH’s goal is to award these funds to highly qualified people who want to serve the CCH service area as respiratory therapists in the future. Applicants would then ideally make themselves available to work at CCH as respiratory therapy techs as their school workloads permit.

“We’ve already seen the success of this investment through past scholarship recipients who are now valued members of our team,” said Melinda Allen, the hospital’s employment and education coordinator. “We look forward to supporting future students who want to learn, grow and build their careers at CCH.”

Applicants must be a resident of Columbus or the surrounding area, attend school in the Columbus area, or be currently enrolled in an accredited program at Central Community College or Southeast Community College. They must also maintain at least a 3.0 grade point average throughout the program.

The application deadline is Sept. 30, 2026.
