Columbus Fieldhouse To Host First Sporting Event On March 3

The Columbus Fieldhouse will be hosting its first scheduled sporting event on Sunday, March 3, when it welcomes four women’s college soccer teams to the facility to hold two exhibition games.

The excitement begins at 12:30 p.m., when Central Community College – Columbus faces off against Iowa Western Community College on the fieldhouse’s turf area. The second game will follow, featuring South Dakota State University versus the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

The public is invited to this free event that showcases all levels of women’s college soccer in the fieldhouse’s turf area.

“We’re excited to host these exhibition games and other special events exactly like this,” said Rob Marshall, director of the Columbus Fieldhouse. “Now is our time to bring in people who might not have previously considered visiting the facility, so we can show them we’re more than a typical athletic environment. We encourage everyone in the community to come out and support these amazing athletes and the competition that will be taking place this Sunday.”

Marshall noted that new and exciting opportunities within the fieldhouse are happening on a continual basis.

Anyone interested in attending this event will receive free access to the Columbus Fieldhouse’s turf area for this specific event only. For full access to all the fieldhouse has to offer, a Columbus Family YMCA membership or day pass will be required.
