Columbus Community Hospital Opening New Medical Clinic in Lindsay, NE
In partnership with the Lindsay Area Investment Club, Columbus Community Hospital is expanding by opening a clinic in Lindsay, NE. The clinic will be located on Main Street and building renovations are currently underway. The clinic plans to open its doors for patients beginning August 2022.
”We are committed to providing the highest quality of health care services to the communities surrounding Columbus, and recognize the need for Lindsay area residents and local businesses to have options close to home,” said Mike Hansen, president and CEO of CCH.
The clinic will start offering hours three half-days per week, with the opportunity to increase clinic hours as demand for care warrants. Lindsay Medical Clinic will offer a wide range of health care services, including medication management for chronic and acute conditions, physical examinations for students and commercial vehicle drivers and annual influenza shots and other routine needs for the whole family. The providers offer preventive care and treat common medical conditions relating to:
· Bone and joint care.
· Ear, nose and throat care.
· Infant to elderly care.
· Chronic conditions such as asthma, diabetes and heart disease.
· Mental and behavioral health.
· Minor surgical procedures, such as wart freezing and skin biopsies.
· Well-woman care and family planning.
Lindsay Area Investment Club (LAIC) was founded in 2018 and has 36 members, with a mission to actively invest in projects for the community of Lindsay. The club recently bought the vacant 5fer’s building. “We could see a variety of opportunities, but wanted to explore what would be best for the community’s future,” said Lyle Herchenbach, president of the LAIC. “When this proposal was presented with a strong support from community members, business owners and the school, it was clear what next step we needed to take.”
“We are blessed not only to have 36 active members financially investing in our mission, but also to have built a partnership with Columbus Community Hospital, whose mission and vision for the future is aligned with what all of us see for Lindsay,” said Micaela Wegener, treasurer of the LAIC. “Our community needs survey-ranked local health care access as a key strategic priority. When we compare ourselves to other successful rural communities, access to health care is a key factor in their success, and what families consider when choosing where to live. I absolutely cannot wait to see what else can and will blossom out of this partnership!”
