Columbus Community Hospital Celebrates a Year of Growth and Success
Guided by its mission to improve the health of the communities it serves through programs, services and community-based wellness events, Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) recently released a summary of its accomplishments during the 2023-24 fiscal year.
CCH was recognized as a 2024 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital by the Chartis Center for Rural Health. This prestigious award, based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, underscores the hospital’s exceptional performance among rural hospitals nationwide.
Beyond this significant achievement, CCH demonstrated a strong commitment to community health. The hospital invested $2,473,951 in programs such as the Complete Health Improvement Program, Meals on Wheels and the National Diabetes Prevention Program. Recognizing the importance of accessible health care, CCH also provided $1,146,036 in financial assistance to patients who could not afford care, ensuring that quality care remains accessible to all.
The hospital successfully recruited 38 health care providers, including 18 physicians, 12 physician assistants and five advanced practice registered nurses.

Furthermore, it fulfills our overall vision to compassionately deliver the state’s highest quality patient care.”
CCH has continued to enhance its service offerings by opening Columbus Dermatology Clinic and expanding its surgical services. The hospital also remained dedicated to community engagement, with 390 volunteers contributing more than 13,000 hours of service.
