Columbus Community Hospital – Caring for Our Community with Heart
Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) is proud to announce that its strength lies in the dedication and compassion of its volunteer program.
CCH has more than 210 volunteers who contributing upwards of 14,000 hours last year alone, exemplifying the heart of the hospital’s community spirit. CCH volunteers provide exceptional service to patients, families, visitors and medical staff.
Volunteers fulfill the following roles at the hospital:
Assist in hospital clinics and departments.
Act as guides, visit patients and provide clerical support.
Run the beverage cart and help with special events like blood drives and fundraisers.
When people volunteer at CCH, they receive an assignment that fits with their special talents, interests and needs.
Angie Ramaekers, director of volunteer and guest services at CCH, says volunteers are so much more than just the people who accomplish a certain task — they are part of the CCH family.
“Volunteers bring to life the health care experience,” Ramaekers said. "Volunteer and guest services is proud to do what we do, which allows those who provide direct care for patients to remain focused on what they do best."
