Columbus Community Hospital Brings Back “Kids Academy: Superhero Edition”
Columbus Community Hospital is preparing to welcome a new group of young heroes during “Kids Academy: Superhero Edition,” a full‑day summer program designed for children entering grades 4-6. This lively event on Wednesday, July 22, blends hands‑on learning with imaginative play, giving kids the chance to build real‑life skills while enjoying a fun and memorable summer experience.
Kids Academy has become a popular summer tradition for many local families. Each year, the program introduces a new theme that encourages children to explore healthy habits, build confidence and learn how to support others.
The event will run from 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Columbus Community Hospital.
“Kids Academy is such a fun and meaningful way for children to learn important skills like first aid, safety and healthy habits,” said Melinda Allen, the hospital’s employment and education coordinator. “They get to try new things, make friends and build confidence — all while learning how to take care of themselves and others. It’s truly one of the highlights of our year at CCH.”
Young heroes will spend the day exploring:
Safety skills — learning how to stay aware, prepared and ready to help.
First aid basics — practicing simple, age‑appropriate ways to care for others.
Power‑up nutrition — discovering how healthy foods fuel their bodies and boost their energy.
Movement, games and team challenges — building teamwork, problem‑solving skills and confidence through active play.
We encourage children to wear their favorite superhero T‑shirts so they can help set the tone for a day filled with imagination and adventure.
Participants will receive lunch and snacks (nut-free) and water throughout the day.
